Thanks to Alan K for sharing this with us all.
]]>For about eight years Paul Flora has used the PVC Bendit tool to bend pipe used in making his strap chairs, stools and tables. What started as a hobby turned into a profit center when others want their own. Paul shared a few photos to show his works.
]]>We struggled with the fact that the electrical box on the end of the PVC Bendits precluded the Bendit from sliding completely inside a PVC pipe. One of our customers suggested we replace the electrical box with a coupler. We made the change and now all of our B Series will have the new Connection.
This allows the entire PVC Bendit to be inserted in the pipe. As an example with 9B or 10B you can insert it so you can make a 9' sweeping bend in a 20' length. Using a 3B you can make a 36" bend in your pipe.
Please let us know what you think of this change.

If you have a B Series PVC Bendit with the electrical box and desire to insert it further into the pipe (1-1/4" and larger) but the electrical box prevents it from going in? You may want to get the conversion kit.
We call it the box to coupler conversion. and it is available in our Accessories area on our website. Or, you can buy the parts at Lowes. Lowes parts: Coupler: Item #76030Model #02-55081, Screw-in connector Item #47397Model #49010 Blue wire connectors Item #52365Model #773301
Unfortunately we don’t have a solution for the A Series as we’ve not been able to locate a connector and coupler that will work safely in 3/8 conduit ”***
]]>"Hey Mike,
The Bendit is working very well and I am retooling my design because I can now make an even stronger piece of equipment thanks to your tool.
I will send you all a photo once I complete my project.
Thanks again."

If you want to convert your existing B Series we offer a conversion kit under "Accessories".
Making this conversion requires some knowledge disassembling and reconnecting the element leads to the electrical cord leads. See the video instructions in our Video section.
Using the specified parts and modifying the label is required as well (once the electrical box is replaced with the coupler, the unit is no longer CSA Listed).
]]>We brought various sizes of schedule 40 PVC pipe, but they were primarily interested in seeing on of their own 2 1/2" diameter gray pipe used in the industry instead.
So, we set up the PVC Bendit and -- once hot, of course -- rotated every couple of minutes as we answered numerous questions from the gentlemen. They wanted to know lots of things about how the PVC Bendit is used for bending PVC pipe!
After just shy of 20 minutes (it takes about 4 minutes for the PVC Bendit to heat up), we created a sweeping 90 degree bend in their pipe. They used it themselves making an off-set and a few other interesting bends. While the other bends were demonstrated in the pipe, the one most worthy of a photo -- almost every time -- was the sweeping 90 degree bend.
Thank you, Eddie M. and everyone at Blazer Electric Supply Co. for inviting us to your warehouse and letting us show you the PVC Bendit!
]]>Introducing the 10B PVC Bendit model!
Just like the 10A, it allows you to heat schedule 40 and schedule 80 PVC pipe up to the full 10 feet in length. The heating element is the same one we use in the 10A, but it is in the larger diameter and will fit in 1 1/4" and larger diameter PVC pipe. It also has the capability of heating said PVC pipe up to EIGHT inches in diameter like the other B-models!
Our very first 10B was built on special request for a customer. After that, we decided to add them to our product line and now they are on the shelf ready for purchase!
Note: The 10B is not CSA listed.

]]>Just a friendly reminder to all of our valued customers that we offer PVC bending tutorials using the PVC Bendit via YouTube.
We feel it is helpful as there are certain areas of bending that can get a bit difficult. Sometimes, additional tools and objects can be utilized in order to make execution of your projects much easier, so we like to show and discuss them as well.
If you're reading this blog, then great news! Click on the "VIDEOS" tab above and watch the same videos from YouTube. Inspiration may be sparked if you check out our PVC Pipe Bending Gallery as well. :)
Happy bending!

]]>Steve stated, "Your tool has worked very well for our scouts' (and my grandkids') snow show projects. We are supporters of the PVC Bendit tool!!!"
He was also kind enough to share a few photos of them building their PVC pipe snow shoes...
Below are photos of Jonah using his snow shoes outside -- just how they are meant to be!
This is truly one of the nicest applications of our tool as well as PVC pipe that we have seen in a while. HUGE thanks to Steve and his scouts! Project well done!

]]>]]>Our new (PVC Bendit) B6 works great for 1 1/4” schedule 80 PVC conduit bending.
We used the PVC conduit bender to make several extra long sweeping bends for long underground wiring pulls.
The active section of the B6 Bendit is well within the 10’ PVC pipe section. The fitting ends stay cool with no risk of distortion.
Used our Variac to limit voltage to about 110 VAC and rotated the PVC pipe frequently.
The finished bent PVC conduit appeared factory made.
Thanks,

]]>One of our customers used our 20B PVC pipe bender to bend 8" Schedule 40 pipe to a 12 degree inside radius. Mission accomplished in 75 minutes as the pipe was heated to 203 degrees. The next unit will be heated a little longer to make bending easier.
They first wrapped the pipe with fiberglass insulation to keep the heat in the pipe and they also used 4 pieces of aluminum flex duct and positioned the PVC Bendit in the middle to help the heat radiate outwards and help the pipe keep its form. They used a Variac transformer to regulate the temperature.

Ilene with 9B PVC Bendit | Frank Felty, new customer. Purchased 2 Bendits |
The main comment when they saw us make a 180% or more bend in 1-1/2" Schedule 40 PVC Pipe was Wow - is that for real! Most were very impressed when they realized they could bend 10 or 20 foot lengths of PVC pipe the Bendits.
Several Spa and Pool OEM's stopped by but mostly it was Service Technicians who would stop first and then bring the Owner and/or Service Manager from their company to see a demonstration.
I felt the show was well attended and from my point of view it was a great exposure and we made many sales.

]]>For fastest results let the PVC Bendit heat up at 115 Volts then reduce it about 50% to maintain a lower temperature.
We used a 500VA variac in our booth at the NE Spa and Pool Show in Atlantic City in January to demonstrate the 3B PVC Bendit heating 1-1/2" PVC Schedule 40 and bending it. We controlled the current at about 50% and never had a problem with over heating the pipe.
Happy Bending...
2000VA Unit for 20B | 500VA for All but 20B |
This process is lengthy and expensive and adds to the cost of manufacturing for all concerned. Our invoice payable to CSA is over $6,000 for them to complete the tests. That may be okay if you can spread the cost over thousands or hundreds of thousands units but when you talking hundreds it is a lot.

Specialty Oven... Recently an engineer called and presented his need for bending a special PVC pipe material that exceeded the length of conventional pvc pipe heating ovens. PVC Bendit reviewed the customer's needs. The pvc pipe bending oven was built using two 9A PVC Bendits as the oven heaters. The oven temperature is controlled with an Ink Bird temperature controller. The customer and his company are happy to be producing product. PVC Bendit is happy we could help.
]]>PVC Bendit has created new PVC Bending 10 foot A and 20 foot B Series PVC Bendits for sale in the US. It has also contracted with the 'NRTL' National Recognized Testing Lab, CSA, to perform the battery of tests to certify them as Safe and in compliance with specific electric and safety code and then List them. CSA is similar to 'UL'.
The cost to have these products tested and listed by CSA is $6,150 plus $955 quarterly for an onsite factory inspections and a $2250 Annual License Fee. Once listed we are able to sell the product to all institutions and government entities that require NRTL tested tools in their workplace.

]]>You may have seen this cool device in action in on the boat docks in Florida or perhaps in a sporting goods store near you. It is a Marksman Hitch and it allows you to back your expensive truck to any trailer without ramming the trailer tongue into your vehicle. According to inventor Dale Bearey, "we could not have made this product without the 3A PVC Bendit tool".
We needed to be able to bend a large quantity of
pieces of 1/2" PVC pipe with a 90 degree bend and there were not any
production tools that we tried that worked. We searched online and the
PVC Bendit appeared on YouTube and purchased our first unit in 2016.
Thanks PVC Bendit you made my invention a success... Even the Casting
Director on Shark Tank though it was great.

]]>The 20B has a 20' heating element so it may be used to heat and bend a full 20' length of PVC schedule 40 or 80 pipe with a diameter of 1 1/4" or greater. The 20B is 120 volts - 15 amp. The 20B Bendit is built with CSA listed parts but, unlike other PVC Bendits, is not CSA Listed.
The PVC Bendit 20B works best when the PVC pipe being heated is placed in the BendStation, which is Microlok fiberglass pipe insulation and included with PVC Bendit purchases. The BendStation helps retain heat around the pipe containing the PVC Bendit.
]]>I got the PVC Bendit to pursue research for my thesis while getting a Master of Architecture degree. Once I figured out how to rotate the pipes regularly, as well as dimming the temperature, it has worked very well to further my research. The entire team at PVC Bendit has been here answering questions and making themselves readily available to help me, and has really shown care and concern with how satisfied I am with their product.
]]>
We used 4" pvc pipe insulation to help keep the heat in the pipe.
It took about 30 minutes to get the pvc pipe near the correct temperature so it would be soft enough to bend. I then carefully began bending the pipe and found it was not uniformly heated so I rotated the pipe 180 degrees, waited a few minutes and finished the bend.
